There’s just something about unique arrangements of holiday music that catches our breath, grounds us, and gifts us with introspection… where we’re reminded about what is good, what is important, and what matters the most.  You know the songs I’m talking about; you can’t help but select “repeat“ over and over…

I remember, when I was a child, my mom telling me that her favorite Christmas song was O Holy Night, so I guess that’s why I adopted it as my favorite too over the years.  Every time I hear it as a grownup this memory comes back to me.

My other favorite is Little Drummer Boy.  It’s the lyrics, and well, the beat!  I love a good cadence!  But really, it’s the humbleness of the lyrics that tugs at my heartstrings.
